6 BALLROOM RHYTHMS

Here is a short description of each of the different styles of ballroom dance.

These are taught in the order they appear below.

            Waltz

​

         * A smooth, flowing dance with graceful turns that make you feel like you’re gliding around the floor.

  • Social Rhythm

  • * A simple, versatile dance style that uses easy steps and natural movement, perfect for beginners and social occasions. Very necessary for small and / or crowded floors.

  • Quickstep

  • * A light and lively upbeat dance with simple-to-learn figures

  • Tango

  • * A stylish and dramatic dance with clear, purposeful steps and sharp, staccato timing.

  • Foxtrot

  • * A smooth, elegant dance based on walking - not as easy as it looks,

  • and taught when the others have been mastered! Most peoples' favourite.

  • Viennese Waltz

  • * A beautiful, rotating dance with continuous turns that feel light, flowing, and wonderfully uplifting.
